Simple Theater

Your own video libraries, from your own Plex Media Server, in a native iPhone and iPad app.

Simple Theater signs in with your Plex account, shows the servers and video libraries you already have access to, and plays them with the system player. It has no account, server, or subscription of its own.

What it does

Browses the movie and TV libraries on servers you own or that were shared with you.
Plays with Direct Play, Direct Stream, or your server's conversion — whichever the server decides your device can handle.
Audio and subtitle selection, playback speed, quality choices, and Playback Info that tells you what is actually happening.
Continue Watching and Recently Added straight from your server; progress is reported back to your Plex account.
Hide libraries you do not want on Home, per profile.
Downloads and offline playback, included free.

What it does not do

No subscription. No ads. No analytics. No tracking. No Simple Theater account. No Plex-hosted channels, rentals, or ad-supported content — only your personal libraries.

Plex

Simple Theater is an independent app made by Arosemena Apps. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Plex. It requires a Plex Media Server and a Plex account, and Plex's own permissions always apply: if your server or the person sharing it with you does not allow something, Simple Theater cannot allow it either. Simple Theater is free; an optional tip in Settings supports its development and unlocks nothing.
