Simple Aisle
Effective 27 September 2026 (revised the same day: private stores, who-added names, notifications)
The short version. Simple Aisle has no account system and no server of its own. Your lists and purchase history are stored on your devices and, if iCloud is on, in your own iCloud account. If you share your household, the people you invite can see it too. Arosemena Apps never receives your data. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
| Information | Why the app has it |
|---|---|
| Store names, items, categories and their colors, quantities and notes | Your grocery lists |
| Purchase history: which item, which store, and the date and time you checked it off | Last purchased dates, suggestions, and statistics |
| Your household's name | Shown in Settings and on sharing invitations |
| Small preferences, such as which stores are expanded | So the app opens the way you left it (kept on each device only) |
Simple Aisle does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information, and it does not use prices or payment information of any kind.
In a shared household, each item shows the first name of the person who added it, taken from their Apple Account as shown in iCloud sharing. Stores you hide are hidden only for you; that choice syncs between your own devices through iCloud.
If you allow it, Simple Aisle notifies you when someone in your shared household adds an item. These notifications are created on your device from the changes iCloud delivers; no Simple Aisle server is involved. You can turn them off in Settings.
So your data does leave your device when you use iCloud sync or sharing. It goes to Apple's iCloud and to the people you choose, and never to Arosemena Apps.
If you use Simple Aisle with Siri or Shortcuts, the item and store names you speak or type are processed by Apple under Apple's terms, then handed to the app on your device.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash reporting that sends your content, no remote configuration, and no artificial intelligence services. Suggestions and categories are worked out on your device. The app contains no third-party code.
Optional tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. Arosemena Apps receives no payment details. Tips unlock nothing, and the app does not record whether you have tipped.
Deleting an item that you've bought before hides it and keeps its history, so your statistics stay correct. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. Data synced to iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. If your household is shared, the other members keep their copy until the owner stops sharing.
Simple Aisle is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and the previous version stays in this site's history on GitHub.
