Pass the Notebook — Support
Pass the Notebook is a shared notebook for iPhone and iPad that you keep with friends and family. It syncs through iCloud and has no account of its own.
Contact
Email ArosemenaApps@gmail.com. Include your app version (Settings → About in the app) and what you were doing when the problem happened. Inside the app, Settings → Contact Support opens an email with the version already filled in.
iCloud and sharing
- Nothing syncs. Pass the Notebook needs you to be signed in to iCloud (Settings → your name), with iCloud allowed for Pass the Notebook in that iCloud settings screen. Settings in the app shows whether iCloud is signed in.
- An invite link does nothing. The person you invite needs Pass the Notebook installed and must be signed in to iCloud. Open the link on the iPhone or iPad where the app is installed. If they were invited from an address that isn't their Apple Account, send a new invite to the address or phone number they use for iCloud.
- I can't invite anyone. Only a notebook's owner can invite. Free includes sharing one notebook with one person; Pro lets you share more notebooks, with up to 25 people each.
- "This notebook is full." You accepted an invite after every spot was taken, so you can read but not write. The owner can remove someone in Notebook Settings or, on the free plan, upgrade to Pro for more spots.
- Changes take a while to appear. iCloud usually syncs within seconds but can take longer on a slow connection or in Low Power Mode. Opening the app brings it up to date.
- Leaving or removing people. Members can leave from the notebook's settings. The owner can remove a member by swiping their name in Notebook Settings → Members.
Purchases
- Pass the Notebook is free. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Private notebooks and joining other people's notebooks are always free. Pro expands sharing: more shared notebooks, up to 25 people each (within iCloud's limits), plus your own daily prompts. PDF export and Managers are free. It's shared with your Family Sharing group.
- Pro didn't turn on after buying, or on a new device. Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Safety
- Report an entry: touch and hold it, then choose Report Entry. The report is emailed to us with the entry's details. We can't see notebooks ourselves, so the report is how we learn about a problem, and we will follow up by email.
- Block someone: touch and hold one of their entries, or swipe their name in Notebook Settings. Their entries and notifications are hidden on your device. Unblock in Settings → Blocked Members.
- Remove content: a notebook's owner and managers can remove any entry; the owner can remove members or delete the notebook for everyone.
Privacy
Your notebooks live in your and your members' iCloud accounts, not on a server of ours. Read the Privacy Policy.
